Intel launched its 10th Gen chips and has installed them in its laptop lineup. The organization officially announced its new Comet Lake-S processors across all its Core lineups -- i9, i7, i5, and i3. Topping the range is the new Core i9-10900K. Intel has claimed that it is the world’s fastest gaming processor.
The new desktop lineup is based on Intel’s 14nm Skylake architecture. This design is being used since 2015. It cannot be regarded as old school that still Intel is continuing their old process, as the organization has kept on refining its earlier work by allowing higher core, thread counts, and increased clock speeds.
Intel is announcing two more unlocked chips along with this top-of-the-line $488 Core i9-10900K. The other two are $374 Core-i7 10700K, with eight cores, 16 threads, a base clock speed of 3.8GHz, and boosted speeds up to 5.1GHz and the cheapest unlocked chip is the $262 Core i6-10600K, with six cores, 12 threads, a base clock speed of 4.1GHz and a boosted speed up to 4.8GHz.
The new chips are able to reach the faster speeds owing to the new technologies provided on the high-end chips, including its “Thermal Velocity Boost” and Turbo Boost 3.0 technology. This helps in increasing the clock speed when the processor is at a temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit/ 70 degrees Celsius or lower, taking into consideration that power is available.
The new chips have up to DDR4-2933 memory, integrated Wi-Fi 6 by default, and support for up to 2.5 gigabit Ethernet. The drawback to the upgrade is that socket configuration for the new lineup is physically changing.
The report by the Market Research Store on the global multi-core processor market showcases that the further developments in the product will increase demand for the target product in the coming years.
