The innovative scanner created by the scientists adopted a basic approachin which an automatic liquid injector infuses a precise quantity of reagent into a blood specimen. The mixture is then illuminated by passing a beam of light, and the analysis will be conducted on a Raspberry Pi computer. By simply altering the solution and optical frequency, the device can be used to evaluate any biological component in the bloodstream.

The scientists started by analyzing glucose levels with a commonly produced laboratory kit. They discussed the findings by testing this solution in their new device. When the researchers compared the results acquired from their scanning device to the data generated by traditional medical instruments, they found that the results were almost the same. Furthermore, the technology has the potential to provide precise results within a minute.

As the following step, the individuals are keen to learn more about the various blood analysis tests that can be performed using the portable device, such as analyzing antibodies, lipids, triglycerides, hemoglobin, and other biologically essential components in the blood. Palekar believes that by employing appropriate technology solutions, the equipment might be made much simpler. She also plans to incorporate an Internet of Things system into the design, which might be suitable for rural monitoring.
