However, the mutations in the copies of YTHDF3 in metastatic tumor DNA have triggered the replication and spread of cancer cells. The study on the gene’s role in stimulating proteins that interact with the brain microenvironment and process brain cancer metastasis will help develop new treatments that can prolong survival and resistance to the progression of brain metastasis. Additionally, the researchers also found YTHDF3 to drive the expression of genes such as GJA1, ST6GALNAC5, EGFR, and VEGFA that can drive the development of cancer.
