New information has been updated about how simple tools can be helpful in minimizing the spread of coronavirus. In a new study, it has been seen that in parts of the U.S. where it is mandatory to wear face masks, around 450,000 cases has been prevented. In the meantime, there was another study that found improved ventilation system can lower the amount of time period wherein the respiratory droplets remain in the air.

The researchers have claimed that indoors the coronavirus can float in the air thus it is better to open up the windows and doors. It is seen that when we sneeze or cough, the droplets carrying the virus have the ability to remain in the air; the larger ones have the ability to travel up to around 6 feet. The smaller particles known as aerosols have the capacity to float in a room and it can merely be produced through normal speech.

UC San Diego Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s Dr. Kimberly Prather has completely dedicated her career in studying aerosols. In a statement that she made it was clear that the virus takes hours to potentially become infectious. If a person in a closed room breathes in this air he becomes infected and increases the chances of other people being infected from the virus.

The director of Harvard's Healthy Buildings Program and ViacomCBS consultant, Joe Allen, said that we are being negligent in recognizing the airborne potential. To open windows and doors is easy and a cheap way but the real catch is changing the ventilation system in a building. He further added it is not possible to change the entire mechanical system but you can update it by bringing more of outdoor air or by putting in a higher improved filter. To make these small changes won’t require much of an investment.

Market Research Store has published a new report on the global ventilation equipment market. The report showcases how in the future the market will gain an increasing demand owing to the increasing demand for green buildings.
