AOI is used to capture millions of points on the surface of a product, and using these points defects in the product can be analyzed. A broad range of defects can be detected using AOI such as defective components, short or open circuits, marks and stains, and components misplacement. The AOI technology was introduced in 1990s, and currently used worldwide in most of the SMT production lines. AOI operates as an automated visual inspection equipment for numerous products such as PCBs, products related to the Agricultural sector, transistors, and automotive parts. It is considered the most reliable inspection process for PCBs in the Electronics industry.

SPI is used for identifying and filtering problems related to printing in the printing process. SPI provides precise print information feedback and enables to enhance and stabilize the printing process. Currently, SPI systems in the market are not only restricted to the detection of defects, but it also enables to eliminate the actual causes of defects in the printing process.
